Zhu Xinli: “I hope one day China will host the America’s Cup”

Zhu Xinli, Chairman of Huiyman Juice, the first big Chinese sponsor, arrived from China at the base in Valencia this morning, for a press conference with Chinese and European media, before sailing as the 18th man in today’s racing.

Welcomed this morning to Valencia on the China Team base by the whole team, WANG Chao Yong and Xavier de Lesquen, Zhu Xinli gave a press conference this morning. “I am very happy to be the first Chinese sponsor in the America’s Cup and I am very proud to sponsor the first Chinese team in this prestigious competition. I hope one day China will host the America’s Cup” Zhu Xinli arrived with a delegation from Huiyuan Juice, a leading fruit juice company in China, one of the most popular brands in China. “We convey the ideas of well being and healthy living, side by side with the quality and excellence of our products, and the values we share with the Cup" finished Zhu Xinli. The Huiyuan logo appears on the mainsail and on the transom of Longtze, the America's Cup Class yacht of China Team. After Zhu Xinli's introduction to Huiyuan Juice, Xavier Lesquen described the future operations of the team: “We are preparing for an important event in Qingdao this October for Longtze’s return to China in the Olympic sailing venue. That will be a big moment for the team and for all Chinese."

At the end of the press conference, the director of Huiyuan Juice got into his foul weather gear to sail as 18th man in this afternoon’s race: China Team vs. Shosholoza. It will be an intense first afternoon, for a big plunge into the America's Cup waters.
