They are off again for racing but this time it is taking place in Hong-Kong. The China Team will participate, on the two Lontgze Premier prototypes, #2 and #3, in a week of regattas between the 11th and 18th of November.

The regattas organized by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will take place the 11th to the 18th of November, “there will be three stages”, explains Thierry Barot who knows the event well. « The Asian International Sportboat Championships” brings together some forty sportboats and takes place the 11th to the 16th of November. Five continents are represented, there are Australians, New Zealanders, and English. The level of racing is high and on a interesting platform. Certain Australian Sportboats are fairly extreme, reaching close to 18 feet. There are also boats which are more classic like the Melges 24, the Magic 25….It will be a good test for us. The regatta will take place Sunday to Thursday. The Friday 16th is off and on Saturday the 17th, Hong Kong organises the Lipton Cup. The race is for charity therefore all the proceeds will be redistributed to local associations. It will be the opportunity to have guests on board and a relaxed day of sailing. Sunday the 18th, is an annual Hong Kong regatta, almost an institution which consists of a circumnavigation around the island. There are more than 250 boats and even people in rowboats. The race is combined with Harbour Day, the port festival of Hong Kong, which finishes up the weeks competition. It is on of the biggest sailing events in Asia.”

It is an intense week of activities. China Team will sail on two Longtze Premiers: the prototype #2, the red boat which won the China Cup and prototype #3, a white boat, one which has just left the boat yard.

The Hong Kong event will be the last competition Longtze Premier will compete in for the 2007 year. For 2008, China Team is preparing a full schedule of competitions in the Asian circuit.
